Together with the company 4E Engineers, a FOSS-architecture was designed and set up to allow for the comprehensive monitoring of any components of a building's technical equipment. Highly flexible edge node gateways collect data from a wide range of protocols, which are then made available for further analysis.
Both the European standard for consumption data acquisition Meter-Bus (MBus) or its radio variant WMBus, but also other technologies, e.g. Modbus und 1-Wire can be recorded and processed immediately. Classic analogue values such as 0-10V or 4-20mA but also PT100 or PT1000 RTDs can also be implemented. Even simple pulse generators can be read through the existing digital inputs.
The gateway enables 4E Engineers to respond to any challenge in a building's plant room. Using 4G, Ethernet or Wifi, the device connects encrypted to the 4E Engineers system. The data is stored in a time series database and can be visualised via the Grafana visualisation software for further analysis. Automated tasks aggregate the data in the background according to customers requirements.
The system will enable 4E Engineers to install cost-efficient monitoring and subsequently develop and implement operational optimisations in accordance with the operating companies.
